Untitled (31 Mercedes Hood Stars)
2007
31 stolen Mercedes hood stars
Pièce unique
Piero GOLIA stages his aspiration to glory and posterity in a way that is at the same time spectacular and willingly derisory. Mixing artfulness and generosity, humour and poetry, Piero GOLIA makes art the place where everything is possible. Like a modern Robin Hood, he steals to the rich to ...give it back to the rich.
Four Foot Red Cube Inserted In The Middle Of A Garden Bench
2006
Fiberglass, wood, metal, paint
47.64 x 108.27 x 47.64 inches
Pièce unique
Four Foot Red Cube Inserted in the Middle of a Garden Bench is literally a massive red cube embedded in a garden bench: Piero GOLIA by an intervention radical in its scale but minimalist in its shape, deprives an object of its initial function while endowing it with new aesthetic interest.
Untitled (12 degrees from the ground)
2005
91.44 x 30.48 x 30.48 inches
Pièce unique
Golia's sculptural installations create a tension between the realm of possibility and the unimaginable. A butterfly seems to hold a socle in precarious balance.

It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
2004
Concrete, wood, glass, metal
149.61 x 438.19 x 5.12 inches
Pièce unique
The entire façade of a house of Amsterdam exposed at Cosmic Galerie, undermining the conventions of both painting and architecture. Its title "It takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" is a reference to the mythical album of the rap group "Public Enemy" and expresses the idea that almost nothing can stop this artist.

Metal, car varnish
70.87 x 78.74 x 31.5 inches

The King Is Dead (0,023 sec.)
2004
97.64 x 46.06 inches
Pièce unique
GOLIA is back to pursue his personal perception of the rules of art and the creative process. A massive luxury chandelier that would fit perfectly in the seventeenth century building, that houses the gallery, seems to have fallen onto a white socle – figuring between a sculpture created by chance and the demonstration of the artist's ability to transform a simple accident into a work of art.

2003
11.02 x 67.72 x 39.37 inches
Pièce unique
The skeleton adorned with Piero GOLIA's attributes (diamond inlaid into a tooth, rings) seems to suggest that art is not only the place of all possible, but also the place to indelibly inscribe one's presence in history. Maybe not Even a Nation of Millions : afterall there may be nothing, really nothing, that can stop Piero GOLIA.

LOSER (Installation view)
2003
Aluminum, plastic, metal, electrical wires
Pièce unique
Sign made out of five human sized glittering letters, each revolving on its own axis: it is as eye catching as a sign should be although it does not quite deliver the message you would expect from such an advertising device: the five letters indeed spell "LOSER".
While each work is negating and asserting at the same time, Piero GOLIA seems to deny his quest of celebrity - or is it only to further affirm it?

2002
35.43 x 23.62 x 55.12 inches
At first sight this bronze seems to be a simple expressionistic sculpture that could possibly adorn the stairs of a palace. In reality it contains a much more surprising internal attribute. Due to a powerful magnetic device, the animal disrupts the funtioning of all objects that use chip technology, from credit cards to cell phones to pacemakers. A lion that hides his trickery very well...

Giraffe with no title but with a pedestal so high that it makes her head bump into the ceiling
2000
The artist inverts the concept of sculpture to question our perception of a work of art and its installation. He places an inflatable giraffe on a pedestal so tall that the giraffe's neck is bent by the ceiling. Explicitly recalling the title, "Giraffe with no title but with a pedestal so high that it makes her head bump into the ceiling", the work on the pedestal seems almost ancillary.
